As a not-for-profit organization, no one is here to get wealthy off of the backs of our customers. Any surplus we have at the end of a given year gets put back in to our technology and cybersecurity capabilities to make sure our customers get increasing amounts of value continuously.
CIS was founded in 1997, based on the concept of a “shared services” model with the underlying principle that “together, we can build something much more beneficial to all of us, than any one of us could do individually”. Our purpose has been to collaborate with advanced technology solutions
Through this shared services model, our customers can now have access to more advanced technologies, supported by more highly specialized resources, built on an enterprise-grade infrastructure than was previously available to them operating individually.
CIS employs highly trained IT professionals with advanced knowledge in the areas of cybersecurity, AI, system administration, network performance, data resilience and incident response. Most organizations have a need for the input from this caliber of engineers, but realistically would have trouble fully utilizing professionals in these areas of specialty as a single entity – as well as afford the price tag to employ them on their own.
By having CIS bring these high-level resources in-house, we can allocate the utilization and costs across many organizations, who together can easily justify this level of capability. The resources are available when they need them - but only to the extent they need them, and at a fraction of the cost.
